First up is Eckhaus Latta’s sleeveless sweater. This piece has me swooning with its unique blend of a 1x1 rib combined with a larger knitted rib on the back, creating an illusion of pleats. For the full fit, I opted for a laid-back denim look, accentuated with kitten-heeled boots creating the perfect balance between casual and sophisticated.
Now let’s talk lingerie! When it comes to layering under sweaters like this, a spacer bra is my go-to choice. A spacer offers just the right amount of support and coverage without feeling bulky, making them an essential in my wardrobe. Whether it’s a classic t-shirt style or the elegant demi cup, spacer bras come in a variety of shapes to suit every preference. As for color, light pink is a neutral in my bra drawer. To complete the look, I paired the light pink spacer bra with a playful mix-matched modal thong. Because let’s be real- who says your bra and panty have to match perfectly?
Moving on to my next favorite piece from Fashion Week: the Anna Sui plaid skirt. There’s something timeless about the revival of schoolgirl chic, and she nailed it with this design. What sets it apart is the use of a smaller plaid repeat, a refreshing twist on the classic larger repeat pattern. It’s a trend that is here to stay, and I couldn’t be happier about it! For my styling approach, I aimed for a fit that seamlessly transitions from office hours to a chic dinner night.
Now let’s talk lingerie! When it comes to pairing bras under oversized sweaters, my top choice is a lace bralette. And if you haven't noticed already, I’m a huge fan of lace-there’s just something so irresistibly elegant about it! For added support, I opt for a bralette with a wide bottom band, ensuring I stay comfortable from morning to night. To complete the look, I paired the lace bralette with a high waisted full coverage panty, providing confidence, especially when navigating crowded subways or busy city streets. It's a practical choice that doesn't compromise on style.
Before we wrap up, here's my secret designer tip: always keep a notebook or sketchbook handy! Whether you’re out for a walk in the park or grabbing coffee with friends, having a notebook on hand ensures you can sketch those creative sparks as soon as they ignite. You’ll thank yourself later when uncovering hidden gems of inspiration.
